3 months old already.......Where has the time gone?????

Ava is 3 months old. I know I already said this, but I cannot believe how quickly time is flying by. Ava's third month of life was a big one for her. In the past few weeks she has really started cooing, smiling like crazy, and even giggling a few times (at least they sound like giggles). She has started to love her activity mat, bumbo seat, and loves to go on walks/runs with mom, her friend Sara, and her 2 month old baby Claire. At three months she weighs about 10 pounds and is 22 inches long. As her head continues to grow her hair does not, so she is starting to become bald. :)

Daddy daycare! We had some good friends over for dinner and it was pretty funny watching the husbands try to juggle watching the babies, the basketball game, and enjoy a beer! :)

I can't get over how much Ava has grown since she was first born. The picture on the right was taken in the NICU when Ava was about 2 weeks old weighing a little under 5 pounds. In her 3 month picture she is double that weighing almost 10 pounds! Thank you god for giving my baby the strength to grow and keeping her healthy!

I had meant to take her 3 month photos all day and just kept putting it off. We had a very busy day that day. So after her evening bath, when she is usually not too happy I decided to test my luck and take her 3 month pictures. I was excited that she was actually being pretty good for the first few pictures and then you will see she lost it after that.

She was not happy with me from this point on!

I love it when I find them asleep together. :)

Dylan (7 months), Ava (3 months), Asher (5 weeks), and Claire (2 1/2 months). I feel so lucky to be able to experience motherhood with my very close friends. None of us planned on having babies at the same time, but somehow it worked out that way. :)

Ava loved meeting Dylan this weekend. Dylan is my friend's 7 month old baby boy. He is so adorable. They moved up north to San Francisco so we don't get to see them as often as we would like to.

Ava and Asher. My good friend Jenn's 1 month old baby. I love how they are the same size even though they are 2 months apart.

Now that Ava is more alert and focuses on objects Steve has started reading to her every night. She usually just stares at me, the fan, or the lights, but I know she hears him and LOVES it!

Tracking Ava's first spring.........

First and foremost let me explain that title. Steve came up with it because just tonight as I was updating the blog Ava started tracking like crazy. As Steve fed her the bottle he would sway from side to side and she would follow him like a hawk. Since this is a new behavior we were very excited for her to hit this developmental milestone.

Time really is flying by these days! Next week Ava will be 3 months old. I am amazed at how much she has changed in the last few months. She now weighs 9 pounds 3 ounces and is eating ALL the time! The doctor was shocked at how much she had gained in 2 weeks and asked if we were feeding her pizza.

In her third month of life Ava had many more firsts. Her first Easter, first trip to Palm Springs, Santa Monica Pier, and her first night in the crib! Although, she is not fully in the crib yet we think she will be in it soon. Mom is not quite ready to have her baby girl sleeping away from her just yet. Here are some pictures documenting Ava's third month of life.

First trip to the Santa Monica Pier. It was a beautiful day, which means it was very crowded by the beach. Ava slept in the stroller the whole time while her parents enjoyed the sunny weather!
Ava is actually starting to enjoy her baths these days!

All ready to head over to Grandma and Grandpa Scifres' house for Easter lunch.

Ava's first Easter basket!

First trip to see the Easter bunny. We went with my good friends Sara and Jenn and their adorable babies who are close in age to Ava. A little awkward that I had to pose as well, but I was not about to allow that germy bunny to hold my baby!

Ava is finally big enough for the baby bjorn. Steve was very excited to try it out. A beer and a baby in the bjorn....what more could you ask for on a Friday night?? :)

Snuggle time with my parents at the pool in Palm Springs! Ava spent the majority of the time sleeping in the shade, but hopefully next trip she will be big enough to go in the water!
