Busy, Busy May

May has been a busy month in our household! Mommy went back to work, daddy turned 30, and Nana and Papa came to visit! Here are some pictures capturing our busy month.

4 months old!!

I am a little behind in posting, but Ava turned 4 months old a few weeks ago! At her 4 month check up the doctor said she was doing fabulous! She weighed 11 pounds 12 ounces and was 23 inches long. She has gained 2 pounds in the last month, which means she is definitely starting to catch up in size and weight. She was given a few more shots, which she did pretty well with. Once we got home she continued to act normal, so we thought we were in the clear. She has had shots now for the past 2 months and has been fine both times, so we figured she wasn't fazed by any of it. Well, later on that night we learned that she in fact does HATE shots. I had to leave to go back to work in the evening for open house, so Steve was left to care for Ava. Poor Steve had to deal with 2 hours of screaming, but he handled it like a pro! Apparently, she had a bad reaction to the shots and was in a lot of pain. Once we got her some baby Tylenol and rocked her (very carefully) she was fine. At least we will be prepared for the next round of shots next month. Since Ava is on a split shot schedule she gets shots every month! Last weekend Steve went to Cabo for a wedding. Ava and I had to stay back because the pediatrician did not think Mexico was a good place to take a young baby. Here is a video Ava made for her daddy while he was gone.

My stay at home mom days are coming to an end.....

I cannot believe the time has already come, but it has!! My maternity leave is over and it is time for me to go back to work. The good news is I only have 5 weeks until summer and my mom will be coming out to spend a few weeks with Ava while I am at work! Next week she gets to have a week with daddy or as Steve calls it "daddy daycare." He has a rigorous schedule planned that involves structured naps, lots of tummy time, and sports center.

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks and a few from our girls weekend. Steve had to go to a wedding and since it was in Cabo, Ava had to stay behind and therefore I did as well. My sister and sister in law came out to keep us company for the weekend.

I almost forgot........In Ava news, she will be 4 months old next Friday and weighs 11 pounds!! She loves playing with her parents and wiggling around on her activity mat. Her changing table is her new favorite place and it never fails that she will laugh and giggle when on it. She has become a master at holding her head up, but hasn't quit figured out how to roll from her stomach to her back. Dad seems to think he is going to teach her that during daddy daycare week. :)

After Ava's nightly bath she gets some snuggle time with daddy. They both love this time together, but on this particular night Ava decided the towel was a great place to poop and pooped all over herself and Steve!
